The Outreach Programme is underpinned by the University strategic initiative to ‘conduct community-based outreach programmes and develop mechanisms for knowledge management’. It is part of the University corporate social responsibility, to assist communities, rural or urban, realize their dreams. It is a way of taking the University to the people to enlarge their horizons. The University sponsors the partnership with transport, training and resources like computers, according to community needs. The Outreach is established through a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) which sets the terms of the agreement. The community must generate the MoU as it is the one privy to its situation prior to approaching the University for ratification.
